Today is a very special day for us: PayTechLaw is celebrating its 10th anniversary!
To be honest, ten years ago we never imagined where this journey would take us.
Back then, we had a simple idea: to provide clear and practical insights into regulatory developments in the payments industry, explain the background behind new legislation, and create a platform where our experts could share their knowledge.
What has grown from that idea fills our entire team with great joy—and, we admit, a little pride.
From an Idea to a Community
Over the past decade, not only has PayTechLaw evolved, but the financial sector itself has undergone an extraordinary transformation.
When we started, our primary focus was on payment services and payments regulation. Today, we cover topics such as DORA, MiCA, the Digital Euro, Open Finance, Artificial Intelligence, anti-money laundering, cyber resilience, and many other regulatory developments shaping the financial sector. With every new topic, PayTechLaw has continued to grow.
Most importantly, however, a blog has become a community—a place where experts share their knowledge, contribute different perspectives, and work together to make complex regulatory developments accessible and practical. That is what PayTechLaw is all about.
Thank You!
An anniversary is the perfect opportunity simply to say thank you.
Thank you to all the authors who have contributed their expertise, time and passion to PayTechLaw over the past ten years. Every single article has helped transform an idea into a well-established platform.
Our sincere thanks also go to our long-standing cooperation partners for their trust and continued support throughout the years.
And, of course, our heartfelt thanks go to you—our readers. You read our articles, engage in discussions, share our content and provide valuable feedback. Without you, PayTechLaw would not be what it is today.
This Is Only the Beginning
A milestone anniversary is also a moment to pause and reflect. Over the coming weeks, we will look back at the regulatory milestones that have shaped our journey, revisit developments that once seemed almost unimaginable but have since become part of everyday practice, and launch a special anniversary series celebrating the past ten years.
Together with our authors, we will explore questions such as: Which regulatory developments have had the greatest impact on our industry? Which events will we never forget? Which changes have fundamentally transformed the financial sector?
And, of course, we will also look ahead. How will financial regulation continue to evolve? How can we make PayTechLaw an even better platform for our readers and contributors?
If the past ten years have taught us one thing, it is this: regulation is never boring.
Here’s to the Next Ten Years!
We look forward to continuing the conversation with you, analysing regulatory developments and exploring new perspectives on the future of financial regulation.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Please join us in raising a glass to 10 years of PayTechLaw. 🥂
And to everything that lies ahead.
