The blockchain is a decentralized database enabled through a peer-to-peer network/DLT that allows transactions (e.g., sending cryptocurrencies). Each transaction is verified and stored in the network.
In the process, a certain number of transactions forms a block. Ultimately, the blockchain got its name through the procedure of stringing together and chaining the blocks.
