Financial instruments are defined both in Section 1 para. 11 sentence 1 of the German Banking Act (Kreditwesengesetz, KWG) and in Section 2 para. 4 of the German Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz, WpHG).
In accordance with the definition contained in Section 1 para. 11 sentence 1 of the KWG shares, investment products, debt instruments, money market instruments, foreign exchange or units of account, derivatives as well as crypto values are generally considered financial instruments.
