EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive

The term EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive refers to several EU laws that define minimum standards for EU member states with regard to combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

These EU laws are not directly applicable but need to be transposed into national law. In Germany, the most important law in this area is the Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG).
